School of Business and Management awarded bursary from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has awarded a bursary to support the study of our BSc Accounting and Management programme for three years.
The award, the ICAEW Foundation Bursary, will be used to support an undergraduate student study accounting and finance modules at Queen Mary starting in September 2020.
The Foundation Bursary was offered to Queen Mary as part of the Global Learning Agreement that the University signed with the ICAEW.
Opening the doors of opportunity
The ICAEW Foundation is offering the bursary for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who would like to study Queen Mary’s BSc Accounting and Management programme.
The winner of the award will receive £4000 towards living costs each year for all three years of the degree programme.
Queen Mary’s BSc Accounting and Management programme was launched in 2016. The programme is designed to provide students with the practical skills required to pursue careers in accountancy in both the academic and professional sectors. Last year the programme received accreditation from the ICAEW.
Dr Ishani Chandrasekara, Director of Queen Mary’s BSc Accounting and Management director said: “The accreditation of our programme has provided assurance to our students and partner organisations about the high standards of our courses in the Faculty.
“The accreditation workshops I lead help our students to navigate some of the complex and heavy emotions we are all facing right now. The professional workshops have also given the space to move through difficult conversations and prepare our students for the virtual learning environment.
“The ICAEW Foundation Bursary will mean that we can further support our talented students to unleash their true potential.”
