Time: 4:00 - 6:00pm Venue: FB4.04/08 Francis Bancroft Building, 4th Floor, Mile End Campus
Speaker: Dr Tessa Wright, Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management, School of Business and Management, Queen Mary, University of LondonThis seminar will make the case for ‘mainstreaming’ sexuality into gender research, arguing that an explicit attention to sexual orientation can both add to our knowledge of the experiences of an under-researched group and offer a better understanding of how the processes of dominant heterosexuality affect the working lives of all women. The seminar will elaborate the intersectional methodology and findings from a study of the experiences of heterosexual women and lesbians working in heavily male-dominated occupations in the UK construction and transport sectors.
