Work Placement Programme

The Blizard Institute welcomes students in the school years 10-12 to participate in a week of work placement. A limit of two students will be able to take part in the placement scheme every two weeks.

The work placement will provide students with the exciting opportunity to gain experience in a lab and learn more about the medical research here at the Blizard.

What will I be doing?

Students will spend time in four of our research centres: Neuroscience, Surgery & TraumaImmunobiologyCell Biology & Cutaneous Research and Genomics & Child Health.

Please, note that the schedule could be modified by Centre Managers at any time depending on their staff activity priorities.

Students may have the opportunity to attend a show or workshop in the Centre of the Cell, pending availability. Students are also welcome to attend seminars and lectures at the Institute that are being held during the week of their placement.

Who can participate?

Students between the age of 14-17 residing in London, United Kingdom.

If you are interested in applying to participate in the Work Placement Programme, please contact your work experience representative at your school and they can lodge an expression of interest on your behalf by emailing blizard-wpp@qmul.ac.uk

If you are an agency

If you are an education agency in London wishing to secure work placements for schools, please send your requests to blizard-wpp@qmul.ac.uk
