Legal Advice

Legal

Queen Mary has its own Legal Advice Centre (LAC) that can offer support to students, staff and members of the public on a range of legal issues. Advice is delivered by LAC Student Advisers under the supervision of qualified lawyers. Anyone using this process will:

  • Attend an appointment with two LAC Student Advisers and a qualified lawyer
  • Receive free written advice within fourteen days
  • To book an appointment Email the LAC with your name, contact number and the area of law your enquiry relates to. Your enquiry will be assessed to see whether we can help you. If your case is accepted, we will arrange an appointment for you to visit the Legal Advice Centre. You will need to bring any documents relating to your legal issue with you to your appointment.

Visa and Immigration Advice

Welfare Advisers in the Advice and Counselling service are regulated under OISC guidelines to give immigration advice. For any questions related to this area students should go to Advice and Counselling as regulations can frequently be updated.
