Vegetable Allotment on the Mile End Campus

The College has recently granted approval to the staff and student, Vegetable Allotment Group to set up a formal growing area in its grounds.  The allotment space is located by the Temporary Building on the College's Mile End Campus.  

The space provided will allow staff and students to gain practical experience in producing sustainably-sourced food, along with exercise and a range of other benefits for health and wellbeing.  

Next Steps:

Any staff or students who are interested in being involved are asked to email the Sustainability Team, indicating whether they are a team of 4 or more looking to take ownership over one of the growing beds or whether they are an individual who would like to get involved but don't have a team yet (don't be discouraged if you don't have a team as there are sure to be others who don't either!).

Once the team is registered and assigned a growing bed, the team will be asked to nominate a team leader who will be the key contact person with the Sustainability Team (this person will be responsible for ensuring the at the assigned allotment space is managed appropriately).  

Training Sessions

We have some experienced growers involved in this project who have offered to provide some practical training for anyone who has little growing experience.  Keep an eye out on the Sustainability Calendar for future dates!
