Take Part in Green Mary Week 2016 for fun, freebies and more! 29 Feb – 4 March

Green Mary Week is returning to QMUL for 2016 with the aim to get you thinking a little greener in 2016! Throughout the week there will be events, promotions on Fairtrade and environmentally-friendly items across QMUL and QMSU outlets, and a whole host of free environmental goodies and Fairtrade chocolate! Highlights include a sustainable suppliers fair outside the Curve (1 March), free cycle maintenance sessions on 29 Feb (Charterhouse Square), 1 March (Mile End) and 2 March (Whitechapel), and the launch of the QMUL Community Garden and Allotments (2 March). We’ll also have a range of careers-focussed events for anyone interested in working the environment sector.

Learn about how to reduce your energy consumption and carbon footprint in Mile End Library

Meet the NUS Student Switch Off team and find out how to help reduce energy use and waste in Halls of Residences

 10am-3pm, the Curve & Student Village: Speak to QMUL’s sustainable caterers and sample their delicious food!

Learn about food waste app Olio and join the local food sharing community

Speak with Veolia Tower Hamlets for recycling and waste reduction advice, and get a selfie with their little binbot!
 Wednesday 2 March
Throughout the Day: Attend our skills workshop and learn about opportunities in Sustainability Engagement, Marketing and Communications

 12.30-2.30pm, Student Village: Join the Sustainability team at the QMUL Green Mary Garden for the launch of the allotments. Email sustainability@qmul.ac.uk to book your place, tickets are limited.
12.30-2.30pm, Library Square/Mile End Library: Get your bike security marked for FREE by the Metropolitan Police

Have your electronics security marked for FREE by the Police in Mile End Library
