Martin Donkin from the QML Cyclist Group who is a passionate cyclist said of the cycling and events:-
‘There are so many fantastic reasons why cycling is good for everyone, but here are my top three:
- Journey times are more predictable – bicycles don’t get stuck in traffic or suspended due to signal failure
- You will be healthier, happier and live longer – regular cycling has been demonstrated to improve both physical and mental health
- You can save £££ - riding a bike is much cheaper than other forms of transport.
It’s good that QML is supporting cycling and I hope the recent events have persuaded even more staff and students to cycle.’
If you are a member of staff, QML may be able to help you purchase a bike through the Cycle To Work Scheme. If you are interested in joining the QMUL cyclist group and to find out about any future cycling events follow the sustainability team on Twitter and like our Facebook page.
