Display Energy Certificates (DECs) are designed to show how efficiently a building is being used. They are required to be displayed, by law, on any public buildings greater than 500m2 that are accessed by the public. Under the legislation, students are members of the public, so this covers a large number of our buildings.
These buildings all need:
- An A3 size Display Energy Certificate (DEC) displayed in a public place.
- An Advisory Report - The advisory report contains a range of possible improvements, including cost-effective measures that may be implemented to improve the energy performance of the property.
- Building inspection/visit from an Accredited DEC Assessor.
