School and campus visit programme
We welcome visits from schools and colleges, and we can organise a programme for groups of up to 25 students and their teachers. Visits can be tailored to include a subject taster session, and they are designed to introduce students to the concept of higher education and the benefits of attending university.
The general visit gives an introduction to the atmosphere and physical space of a campus-based university, and includes the following:
- campus tour and library exercise
- question and answer session from current Queen Mary students:
- a talk on student finance or UCAS application as an optional extra
The subject-specific session includes some or all of the above. Students also have the opportunity to sample first-hand what it would be like to study a specific subject in a university environment. Subject sessions usually last an hour and a half and are taught by a Queen Mary academic.
For further information on the school visit programme please contact Michael Bennett, Widening Participation and Outreach Officer, on 020 7882 7463 or m.bennett@qmul.ac.uk.
