The Education Liaison and Access team

Roisin Hurst
Acting Head of Education Liaison

Roisin Hurst

Hello. As Acting Head of Education Liaison, I plan the Office’s strategy for promoting the College within the UK in order to ensure that our student recruitment targets are met. This includes our annual programme of schools liaison and promotional activities such as talks to students, open days and events for teachers.

In addition to this, I oversee the College’s UK postgraduate recruitment strategy which involves promoting our postgraduate courses within the UK through advertising, running annual postgraduate open evenings and representing the college at postgraduate recruitment fairs around the country.

I am also responsible for co-ordinating the College’s Mentoring Programme which involves Queen Mary students working as mentors on a one-to-one or small group basis with pupils in local schools and colleges to help raise their levels of achievement.

I edit our newsletter for teachers and careers staff, OnQ, which we mail to schools, colleges and careers offices five times a year, as well as our annual Parents’ Guide to HE and biennial Teachers’ Guide to HE, all of which are available to download as
PDF documents. Please email me if you would like to be added to our database to receive paper copies.

I regularly visit schools and colleges to give talks to prospective students and their parents on higher education. If you want more information on any of these activities, please do not hesitate to contact me.
