The careers team offer expert advice

You will be supported by QM Careers throughout your time at QM. As well as offering daily appointments so you can access one-to-one careers advice when you need it, each academic school is assigned a personal careers consultant. This consultant specialises in your chosen field of study and organises all kinds of events – such as talks from key industry experts and networking events.

Along with the rest of the Careers team, your careers consultant will be on hand to guide you through your options, talk through access routes to different careers, offer feedback on your CV and arrange practice interviews.

You will also be able to make use of masterclasses, such as the LinkedIn Lab – where you will learn how to use the professional networking site to your advantage.

Mentoring schemes

The Careers team can advise you on mentoring opportunities. Meeting with a mentor is a valuable chance to learn more about the working world and find your place within it. For example, RBS is mentoring 15 QM students for four months (April to July 2012), offering students twice-monthly meetings with RBS mentors.

Get linked up

It may make all the difference to be able to talk to someone in the industry you want to move into. The QM Careers Service organises a 'linked up' service where current students are paired with QM alumni and meet for a minimum of three appointments.

GradClub: it doesn't stop when you graduate

All QM graduates automatically become members of GradClub, a service offered by The Careers Group, University of London. This means you can turn to the QM Careers team for expert help and advice for up to two years after graduating.
