The Library is an essential resource for students – it doesn't just contain books (though there are plenty) – but also specialist journals, DVDs and videos. You can access electronic archives as well as the Internet using computers set aside for students.
The Library is a great place to study – both individually and in small groups. There are several spaces for quiet revision, an archives reading room, as well as self-service issue, return points and a cafe. The Hive, which is just across from the library, offers students a relaxed, open-plan environment that is ideal for group study.
The book collection contains rare editions, reference volumes, critical guides and the latest releases. You will also find copies of the daily newspapers for reference use.
The DVD collection was procured as a resource for our Film Studies courses. Films include classic Hollywood and British, French, Italian, Russian and Spanish cinema.
Medical and dental students can use the specialist medical libraries at Whitechapel and West Smithfield (site of Barts hospital).
The Library is open 24 hours around deadline time. It's like a little city.

All students are able to access all library collections at other University of London colleges via Inter-Library Loan, as well as use the Senate House Library. The Senate House Library has more than two million titles and around 5,500 current periodical titles.
