More dinosaur parts arrive on campus

There was excitement in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences last week as another box of dinosaur parts was delivered, including a T-rex foot, the jaw of a solenodon, an albertosaurus arm and a hadrosaur jaw. This follows the arrival of our T.rex skull last year, which students opted to name Queenie. Follow the hashtag #LatePaleoXmas to find out more about the latest dino bits.

The School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science is celebrating after our students secured the top two places at the Tech Partnership North competition in Manchester.

Community Sport shortlisted for a London Sport Award

The Queen Mary Students’ Union Community Sport project, which aims to increase activity levels within Tower Hamlets using our students as sports coaches and officials, has been shortlisted in the London Sports Awards. Blizard Institute marks ten-year anniversary

QMUL’s world-class research centre, the Blizard Institute, celebrated its tenth year in December. The iconic building was opened by Princess Anne in October 2005, and over the past ten years has seen major advances in the research areas of cell biology, genomics, immunology, neuroscience, trauma, primary care and public health.

‘With One Voice’, an international arts programme designed to give homeless people in host cities a voice during the Olympics, was launched in São Paulo, Brazil at the end of last year.

£10m grant awarded for Barts Heart Centre

Queen Mary and Barts Health NHS Trust have received £10 million from Barts Charity for the creation of a world-class cardiovascular academic medical centre at the Trust’s Barts Heart Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.
