Appointment of new President and Principal

QMUL's Council – the university's governing body – has approved the appointment of Professor Colin Bailey as our new President and Principal. He will take up the role after Professor Simon Gaskell stands down this summer. Colin is currently Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and Professor of Engineering, at the University of Manchester.

The Chairman of Council, Sir Nicolas Monatgu, comments: “I am absolutely delighted with the appointment – Colin is the ideal person to take Queen Mary on a continuing upward trajectory and build on Simon’s outstanding achievements." Read more

Students’ Union Graduation Fund

All students should have the opportunity to celebrate their time and achievements here at QMUL. The Students' Union has a graduation fund which will cover the price of caps and gowns for students who would otherwise struggle to cover the cost. More.

Erasmus+ traineeship grants available for soon-to-be graduates

QMUL students finishing their bachelors, masters or doctoral-level PhD studies in June/July this year who are planning on completing a traineeship (internship/work placement) outside the UK but in Europe over the coming summer can apply for an Erasmus+ grant to help towards their living costs. More.

Financial Assistance Fund 2016/17

Got money worries? Financial help is available. The deadline to apply for a standard award from the Financial Assistance Fund is Friday 7 April. If you are in financial need and want to find out more about the fund, you can visit this website.
