The CPE Community Engagement Grants scheme provides opportunities for QMUL staff and students to develop conmunity engagement initiatives based on the needs of QMUL's local community.
The scheme is being piloted in 2017-18 to develop new engagement activity and relationships with community organisations in East London, which extends to the Islington borough for those based at the Charterhouse Square and West Smithfield campuses.
Applicants can apply for up to £500 to develop new or existing relationships with community-based organisations and to pilot new engagement activities which:
- Work with community orgnaisations to shape and collaborate in activities
- Are based on a need/s identified by the local community
- Engage and involve the local community in QMUL research and teaching
- Have a mutual benefit – with benefits to you, your research and the communities and individuals engaged.
Applications are welcome from all QMUL staff and students, and we reccomend applications have a community partner as a co-applicant. Where this isn't possible, organisations you wish to engage with will need to be identified.
The grant is unable to fund activities which are already taking place, taking place without the involvement of community organisations, and taking place outside of East London.
All projects and spend must be complete by the 31st July 2018. Applications for activities that go beyond the 31st July 2018 will not be accepted.
The scheme is open to all QMUL staff and students.
The Centre for Public Engagement is managing this funding opportunity and will provide support in the development of proposals. Please email email@example.com with your queries.
