Welcome to the latest edition of the offer-holder newsletter for EU and International students.

This edition has been sent to you because you currently hold an offer to study a postgraduate course at Queen Mary University of London beginning in the 2017/18 academic year.

This issue focusses on deposits, tuition fees and invoices. However, we would first like to remind you that if you have accepted your offer and you would like to apply for college accommodation, then please do so before the deadline of 31st May 2017 passes. If you have already applied for accommodation, then you can relax!

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about any of the information given below or in our previous newsletters.

Deposits

There are slightly different rules regarding deposits for EU and International students, so please choose between the following two subsections:

1. EU Students

Some postgraduate taught courses offered by our School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, and our School of Medicine and Dentistry require a deposit of either £500, £1,000 or £2,000 in order for students to secure their place.

Please note, where a deposit is payable for your course, you should only pay it only once your place has been confirmed, i.e., once your offer is unconditional (you have met all academic and English language conditions necessary for admission to the course) and you have firmly accepted it.

Our admissions office will send you an email requesting payment when a deposit is required.

Details regarding the courses that require deposits, the value of the required deposit, and how to make payment are included here.

2. International (non-EU) Students

All postgraduate taught courses require overseas fee-payers to pay a deposit of £2,000 in order for them to secure their place at QMUL.

Our International foundation courses and pre-masters courses also require overseas fee-payers to pay a deposit of £2,000 in order to secure their place.

You are only required to pay a deposit once your place has been confirmed, i.e., once your offer is unconditional (you have met all academic and English language conditions necessary for admission to the course) and you have firmly accepted it.

Our admissions office will send you an email requesting payment when a deposit is required.

The payment of a deposit may assist you when applying for immigration permission under Tier 4 of the UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration) Points Based System.

Instructions on how to pay a deposit are included here.

Both EU and (non-EU) International Students

If you have already paid your deposit, then there is no need for you to take any further action. Confirmation of your payment will be communicated to our Admissions Office in due course and your record will be updated.

If you are in receipt of a scholarship, or your fees will be paid by a sponsor, then you may be exempt from paying a deposit. We do however require a formal letter from your sponsor confirming that your tuition fees will be paid by them.

If a deposit is required for your course, and you have firmly accepted an unconditional offer, but you have not paid your deposit yet, then please do so as soon as possible in order to secure your place at QMUL.

Further information on how to pay your deposit can be found on your MySIS applicant portal.

Your tuition fee deposit will be deducted from your overall tuition fee cost (for the first year of study) and you will only be required to make arrangements to pay the balance before your enrolment date.

Please check the tuition fee regulations for further information

Tuition Fees

The 2017/18 tuition fees are available online for both EU and International fee payers, and can be checked here.

Invoices

Tuition fee invoices are emailed by our Fees office from mid-August onwards. You must pre-enrol via your MySis portal in order to trigger your invoice, but you will only be able to pre-enrol from August onwards. Our admissions office will email you in August in order to request that you pre-enrol.

You do not need to wait for an invoice in order to make a payment if your offer is unconditional and you have firmly accepted it.

For information on how to make the payment, please see Payment of Tuition Fees.

Pre-Sessional Students

Pre-Sessional English course tuition fees are due before (or on) the first day of the programme, and students need to pay the full amount before they can enrol onto a pre-sessional course.

Invoices for the 13 week pre-sessional course (beginning 15th June) are being sent out now.

The course start dates are listed here, and information regarding how to make the payment can be found here:  Payment of Tuition Fees.

Pre-sessional students who have an unconditional firm offer can pay their tuition fees without an invoice online via this page:  www.qmul.ac.uk/epay
