QMUL

With just over a week to go until the beginning of enrolment, we would like to draw your attention towards our Checklist: On Arrival guide. We have highlighted a few important items below.
Arriving at the UK border
Non-EU/EEA Students Only

The Home Office have created a list of ten tips to guide you when travelling through the UK border, which you can find here.

Thse tips include details of the documents you will need to present to the Border Force on arrival. Please keep your paperwork (i.e. electronic copies are not accepted) in your hand luggage so that your documents are ready to be presented to a Border Force Officer before reaching Customs Control.
Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) collection
Non-EU/EEA Students Only

This applies only to students that have obtained a Tier 4 visa under the QMUL licence for the course you intend to study.

Please read the information included under the tab relevant to your circumstances here. The first tab is relevant to the majority of our newly-enrolling international students. Please read the guidance included, such as the documents you will need to bring with you when you enrol.

Please note, if you require a BRP, you must collect it from your specific Post Office within 10 days of arrival before you can enrol.  Some students that applied for, and received, their tier 4 visa early in the summer may be eligible to collect their BRP from the Queen’s Building on out Mile End campus at QMUL.  Your collection location will be indicated on the letter you receive when your visa has been issued and your passport returned to you.
Police registration
Non-EU/EEA Students Only

Students of some particular nationalities are required to register with the Police via the Overseas Visitors Records Office (OVRO). See Step Nine of our Checklist: On Arrival for more information about this process.

To find out if your nationality is included, please check the immigration rules page on gov.uk

QMUL students have a unique opportunity to register with an OVRO Officer at our Mile End Campus between 26th September and 1st October 2016. You can book your place online:

Meningitis vaccine
The National Health Service (NHS) have produced this leaflet to explain more about protecting yourself against Meningitis by taking the MenACWY vaccine.

You are advised to get immunised before the start of your studies and in your home country. If this is not possible, there is some information on our website regards vaccination through the Student Health Service.
Deposits and CAS
If you are an overseas fee payer who will be joining any taught postgraduate programme or a foundation course, and are not sponsored by a third party organisation, you will be required to pay a deposit of £2,000 towards your tuition fee, in order to secure your place at Queen Mary University of London.

We are unable to release your CAS which you require for your Tier 4 visa application until we have received your deposit payment.

Airport pick up service
We will provide a free coach service for new students arriving at Heathrow Airport on 17th and 18th September 2016.

Coaches will depart from Heathrow Terminal 3 approximately every two hours (more frequently when busy) and will drop students off at our Mile End Campus.

We look forward to meeting you all over the next couple of weeks!

Best wishes,
