Olympics 2012 and Queen Mary, University of London

The long wait is over, the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are now in full swing. Our Olympic guests are all over the QM campus and many staff and students have taken up their volunteering roles. Only two miles from the main Olympic stadium (or one stop on the Central line), Queen Mary is the closest research-led university to the Games.

Expertise

Staff at our Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine, based at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, are working at the Games: both on the Olympic organising committee and with athletes.

In some areas close to the Stratford Olympic Park up to one in six adults are at high risk.
