IT services for students

Print services

New student print and copy facilities are now available in all student service managed labs, the Hive and the libraries. The new service promises to reduce the time spent hanging around printers waiting for your work to appear. The extension of the QM iPay system also means there is less hassle in topping up your account. Heads up: all printers will now print double-sided unless you change the settings.
For more information visit: www.stu.qmul.ac.uk/printing.

QMplus

QMplus is our new online learning environment, which replaces Blackboard for the majority of students this year. It is built for you and contains a wealth of resources and activities that you are likely to use to support your studies.
To access QMplus, visit: qmplus.qmul.ac.uk

Blackboard is the former online learning environment. Courses within undergraduate Medicine (MBBS) will still be using Blackboard during the 2012/13 academic year.
If you are studying on the MBBS programme, then you should log in to Blackboard at: www.elearning.qmul.ac.uk.

Email

The College is introducing Microsoft Office 365 for email and calendaring. You get more storage with 25GB for each user and can easily access it from your mobile device.
For more information and to access your email visit: www.qmul.ac.uk/mail

Q-Review

We've just expanded and updated our Q-Review service, which records live lectures and teaching materials. Presenters can choose to record their lectures and make them available on QMplus and Blackboard – so you should be able to watch them anytime, anywhere, on any device.

Green Impact

The College participates in two National Union of Students (NUS) Green Impact programmes:

Our Community

All students should receive a flyer called Our Community during the start of term. This is our charter-style document that has recently been developed by both the Students’ Union and the College. It is an important document for both students and the institution. In Our Community we set out what you can expect from the Institution, and what, in turn, the Institution can expect from you.

If you haven’t seen it yet you can read it now: www.qmul.ac.uk/ourcommunity.

New work experience opportunities

QM Careers can help you with part-time work, eg, work experience or internships, if you are looking to work while you study, as well as help to prepare you for your working life as you graduate.
