Existing prediction tools could prevent many cases of diabetes
Newsmedical
Researchers at Queen Mary have found that many cases of diabetes could be prevented if GPs and the public made use of existing prediction tools. Their study, published today in the British Medical Journal, reviewed 145 different 'risk scores' for type 2 diabetes. None were 100 per cent accurate, but many gave a good prediction of whether someone is expected to develop diabetes in the next decade.
