Tackling rugby safety issues head-on

The Telegraph
A report co-authored by Professor Pollock has shown that rugby injuries in schools is 10.8 incidents of injury per 1,000 playing hours, raising concerns that the game is too dangerous for children to play. Professor Pollock commented: “The sport is not safe enough for schoolchildren and not enough is being done to protect the safety of children. If youngsters were coming back from school trips with these rates of injuries, it would be enough to trigger a major inquiry.”
Professor Pollock has also recently been interviewed on rugby in schools for Irish radio and BBC Tees.
