‘The prime of Miss Jane Austen’ will air on BBC2 as part of the broadcaster’s summer schedule of ‘powerful documentaries’. It will be presented by Amanda Vickery, Professor of Early Modern History at Queen Mary, and marks the 200th anniversary of Austin’s first novel, Sense and Sensibility. Vickery will explore the impact Austen's writing has had on people and why it became so popular.
