Professor Jardine comments on International Women's Day

School of English and Drama: Professor Lisa Jardine

Today is the 1000th annual International Women’s Day which has seen women marching, celebrating and protesting around the world. The theme of the event this year is progress, to mark the journey women have made in the past century and also what lies ahead of them. Professor Jardine said: “Things are systematically improving for women – it's just we expect more. Women's expectations will stop being 'realistic' when they reach parity with men. It will happen.”
