Professor Gerard Hanlon has warned business schools are failing students by not offering thorough critiques of management and business models. He said this will in turn be detrimental to society as students are ill equipped to deal with the complex problems faced in life and business. “Teaching is focused on management technique and is done on the assumption that management is an unqualified good. If the schools were doing their job, some academics would be questioning that. But in most places that would not be seen as a legitimate question to ask,” he said.
