BBC show A History of Scotland has been criticised by Dr Hunt, who said the series was lacking “authenticity and passion” and did not grasp a “feel for the past”. The programme has come under fire from many who argue it should have been presented by a historian and not journalist Neil Oliver. Dr Hunt said: “History programmes should be written by an individual, so you have a polemic behind it. It means you get the sincerely held views of that individual, rather than those of an anonymous committee of experts and academics, who want to square every circle and include every element.”
