QMUL is pleased to announce that the next Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Pharmacology will be Professor Amrita Ahluwalia, Deputy Director of QMUL’s William Harvey Research Institute.
Owned by the British Pharmacological Society, the British Journal of Pharmacology is a broad-based journal giving leading international coverage of all aspects of pharmacology research. The journal’s current Editor-in-Chief, Professor Ian McGrath, will complete his full term in the role at the end of 2015 – with the Society appointing Amrita for an initial five year term from 1 January 2016.
Professor Ahluwalia said: “It is a tremendous honour to be the next Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Pharmacology. As a longstanding member of the British Pharmacological Society, I am passionate about this journal and its role in bringing cutting-edge pharmacological research to the fore, and I look forward to playing a key part in its future.”
Professor Graeme Henderson, the Society’s Vice President – Publications, added: “Since she joined the British Pharmacological Society in 1989, Amrita has contributed to and enthusiastically supported new initiatives that have promoted and advanced pharmacology in all its forms, including as the first Chair of the Society’s Women in Pharmacology group and as a senior editor of the British Journal of Pharmacology for almost seven years. Amrita will be responsible for continuing to improve the quality of the journal, and driving new initiatives. I look forward to supporting her plans, and working together on the Society’s publication strategy.”
