Professor Susan Dilly appointed to Human Tissue Authority board

Professor Susan Dilly

The Director of the Institute for Health Sciences Education’s background as a consultant histopathologist with a special interest in perinatal pathology will be a significant asset in her new appointment.

Professor Dilly, along with the Chair and the other 10 members of the HTA Board, was appointed by The Secretary of State for Health.

Professional members of the Board come from medical and scientific backgrounds linked to the HTA and the lay members bring a wide range of business, commercial and public sector experience.

The work of the Board is varied and includes:

• continually revising policy in fast-changing scientific / medical areas
• approving complex organ donation cases
• attending and speaking about the HTA at meetings and events
• attending Authority meetings and members' group meetings to make strategic decisions about the work of the HTA.
