Student scoops national essay prize

A student from Queen Mary has taken the top prize in a national essay writing contest.

Adam Hexter, a second year medical student at Bart’s and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, won £1000 from the Society for Endocrinology for his essay on stress and the credit crunch. It will be published in the the Society for Endocrinology’s quarterly newsletter.

Judges looked for essays which were based on a topical aspect of endocrinology with thought provoking and opinionated content. Adam said: "The subject of stress seemed obvious to me because, like most medical students, I see a lot of it, especially this time of year during exams.”
