Profile

Franco Vivaldi is Professor of Mathematics at the School of Mathematical Sciences. He works in the area of Dynamical Systems, specialising in applications of arithmetical and algebraic methods to the study of low-dimensional systems.

Recent research includes investigation of the phenomenon of 'pseudo-chaos' in piecewise isometric systems (in collaboration with J H Lowenstein at NYU, New York), and the study of statistical properties of dynamical systems over finite fields (in collaboration with John Roberts at UNSW, Sydney).
