Dr Lawrence Pettit is Reader in Statistics. He holds a BA in Mathematics from Oxford University, an MSc in Statistics from UCL and a PhD from Nottingham University for a thesis on Bayesian approaches to outliers. He is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and a Chartered Statistician. His main intersest are in Bayesian Statistics, particularly model choice in a wide range of areas. In the School he is the Chair of the taught postgraduate Exam Board and a member of the Teaching and Learning Committee. Within the College he is a Deputy Chair for Appeals and a member of the Taught Programmes Board. He is an external examiner at the Universities of Kent and Southampton and was a Senior Examiner for the Royal Statistical Society.
