FuturICT and Social Mathematics Talk

Published:

Prof. Dirk Helbing, a theoretical Physicist, now Prof. of Sociology at ETH Zurich is giving a talk at QMUL on the FuturICT EU grant on the 29th of March at 4:30 pm. The event will take place in the Fogg Lecture Theatre and will be followed by drinks.

The FuturICT Flagship proposes an unprecedented 1 Billion Euros funding over 10 years for research on social life on Earth. The project is led by Prof. Helbing, and the management committee is chaired by Prof. Steven Bishop (UCL Mathematics). We believe that there is plenty of scope for other non-UCL mathematicians to get involved in the project and would like to invite colleagues from the department to attend the talk.

Please see the attached flyer and for more information, please email Rui Carvalho(link sends e-mail). We will also have A0 posters and a presentation on the foyer of the Fogg building, and we’d be more than happy to include any material from other colleagues in the school.
