Candidates from Cyprus, Guyana, India, Luxembourg and Thailand should submit their applications to UCAS through the recognised agency in London (eg High Commission, Embassy, Student Office). To apply to undertake postgraduate research (PhD) you are advised to make contact with the relevant academic department prior to submitting an application. Information on the relevant entrance qualifications and admissions information will be given by the department.

For undergraduate courses applications from UK-based applicants should reach UCAS by 15 January 2007, although, at their discretion, institutions may consider applications received up until 30 June 2007. Later deadlines apply to international applicants but early application is recommended, especially for popular and oversubscribed courses.
There are no closing dates for applications to postgraduate study, although entry to some programmes is very competitive and courses may become full several months before the start of the academic year. If you are concerned about courses filling up and would like advice on availability, please contact the Admissions and Recruitment Office.

The level of English required at Queen Mary varies between courses and departments. All applicants are required to have a recognised English language qualification.
The college also offers various presessional English language and foundation courses for those students wishing to improve their proficiency in English before starting a university degree programme.For more information , please refer to English language and foundation courses.

For postgraduate courses application processes vary from department to department and upon the time of year. The average time from application to notification is between 4 to 6 weeks. Please refer to information on applying for postgraduate courses.
It is sometimes possible for international applicants to transfer onto the second year of study for undergraduate courses. If you wish to transfer onto an undergraduate course you should contact the relevant department for further details.
Application procedures are similar to normal undergraduate entry via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service [new window], but applicants should clearly mark second year entry on the form. Please note you need to submit your detailed transcript, as well as your full academic history.

Finding suitable accommodation while studying at Queen Mary is easy. The College's own facilities are both extensive and competitively priced - from July 2004 following the completion of the College's 1000 room en-suite Student Village which will create the largest self-contained campus within the University of London with a total of 2,000 on-campus rooms - all accommodation will be provided in self-catered houses, flats and maisonettes.
Queen Mary offers accommodation to all first year undergraduates who apply by 30th June, and does its best to house students who apply later than this date. For more information on accommodation, please see the Residential Services web site.
