Queen Mary has a long history of welcoming students from around the world. Over the years, many thousands of international students have graduated from the College and gone on to pursue successful careers. Recognition of Ugandan Qualifications for Undergraduate Entry
Students achieving good results from the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (in combination with the Uganda Certificate of Education), the East African Advanced Certificate of Education or the Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate are eligible for entry into the first year of a Bachelors degree course.

Students holding a qualification that is not recognised for direct entry to a degree course might be accepted to attend a Foundation course before pursuing an undergraduate programme at Queen Mary.

English:
Students from Uganda with UCE English grades 3-1 do not need IELTS or TOEFL.

Recognition of Ugandan Qualifications for Graduate Entry
Masters degrees (all one year)
Academic:
- The exact requirements will depend on the programme you are applying for but the following qualifications will be considered for entry onto our Master’s programmes:
- QM considers applicants holding a good Bachelor (Honours) degree Class 2:1 or a GPA of more than 3.6 from a recognised Ugandan university for a Masters entry.
- Please note that all applications are considered on an individual basis and students may be admitted to postgraduate programmes with a lower level degree if they have significant work experience relevant to the degree applied for.

Research degree (MPhil/PhD: 3 years)
Academic:
The usual entrance requirement for a research degree is a Masters qualification from a recognised Ugandan university.
