Welcome
Queen Mary has a long history of welcoming students from around the world. Over the years, many thousands of international students have graduated from the college and gone on to pursue successful careers. Today, we are home to students from more than 100 different countries. This diversity contributes to a lively and welcoming community which should make you feel comfortable and at home.
One of the largest colleges of the University of London and one of the few with fully integrated teaching, research and residential facilities, our setting gives you the benefits both of a large campus environment and of the countless academic and social opportunities of London.
There are about 80 students from Taiwan studying on campus at Queen Mary in the areas of Business Management, Economics, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Law, Mathematics, Human Resource Management, Engineering and Materials Science, Biological & Chemical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Entry requirements
Entry requirements for Taiwanese students to study at Queen Mary
Undergraduate Entry
- Students who have completed the Senior High school (with Senior High School Diploma after 12 years) in Taiwanese education system will need to complete a English language and foundation courses in order to enter onto the first year of a bachelors degree programme.
- For details on the University of London External Diploma/Degree transfers
Postgraduate entry
- Students who have graduated with a bachelor's qualification from a recognised institution in Taiwan will be considered for entry onto a master's programme with 70-75% or above.
- Students who have graduated with a master's qualification with 75% or above from good institutions may be considered for PhD level studies.
All students must be able to prove proficiency in the English language by taking internationally validated tests such as IELTS or TOEFL.
English Language Requirements
- Please refer to English language and foundation courses for different course requirements.
- Students with A’ levels or IB will not require IELTS or TOEFL
- Students who achieve slightly below these requirements may be admitted onto a presessional English course at Queen Mary. Please see the Entry Level Guidelines for English Language for full details for full details.
