Welcome

Queen Mary has a long history of welcoming students from around the World. Over the years, many thousands of international students have graduated from the college and gone on to pursue successful careers. Today, we are home to students from more than 100 different countries. This diversity contributes to a lively and welcoming community which should make you feel comfortable and at home.
One of the largest colleges of the University of London and one of the few with fully integrated teaching, research and residential facilities, our setting gives you the benefits both of a large campus environment and of the countless academic and social opportunities of London.

Financing your studies

EU students applying to study at undergraduate level may be eligible for a loan to cover their tuition fees at Queen Mary, please see the Undergraduate Fees and Finance page for more details.
EU students can also apply for various studentships and bursaries for postgraduate study, please go to Postgraduate Studentships for more information.

Erasmus and Study Abroad Programmes

Students interested in attending Queen Mary through the Erasmus programme, please visit the Erasmus website.

If your university does not have an Erasmus exchange programme with Queen Mary, you can apply directly to our Study Abroad programme. This is for overseas students who would like to study with us for one or two semesters, with credit transferring to your home university. Please note that it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their home institution will accept credits earned.

Entry Requirements

Recognition of Spanish qualifications for Undergraduate Entry

Academic:

The following Spanish qualifications will be considered for entry onto a Queen Mary Bachelor’s degree:

  • Bachillerato
  • Curso de Orientacion Universitaria (COU)
  • Prueba de Acceso a la Universidad (PAU) or Selectividad
  • Exact requirements will depend on the course you are applying for but students usually need to obtain a minimum overall mark of between 6/10 and 9/10. You may also be required to have studied specific subjects.

Also acceptable are:

  • 3 A levels (grades A-C)
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)

Recognition of Spanish qualifications for Graduate Entry

Master's degrees (all one year)

Academic:

The following qualifications will be considered for entry onto a Queen Mary Master’s degree:

  • Licenciado
  • Título de Ingeniero
  • Título de Arquitecto
  • Exact grade requirements will depend on the level you have studied at and the course you are applying for, but you will usually need to achieve at least 7/10, notable or 2/4 to be considered.

Please note that all applications are considered on an individual basis and students may be admitted to Master's programmes with a lower level degree if they have work experience relevant to the degree applied for.

Research degree (MPhil/PhD: 3 years)

Academic:

The usual entrance requirement for a research degree is a Master’s degree from a UK university or equivalent. Many departments will also consider the following Spanish qualifications with high grades:

  • Licenciado
  • Título de Ingeniero
  • Título de Arquitecto
