 Entry requirements

Recognition of qualifications for Undergraduate Foundation Courses (1 year)

Academic:

  • The equivalent of a High School Diploma with very good grades and at least and intermediate level of English (see below)

Recognition of qualifications for undergraduate entry

Academic:

  • UK Foundation Course or
  • 3 A levels (grades A-C)
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)

English Language Requirements

Recognition of qualifications for graduate entry

Master's degrees (all one year):

The usual requirements are a good second class honours degree from a UK university, a recognised equivalent from an accredited overseas institution or an equivalent professional qualification.   However, all applications are considered on an individual basis and students may be admitted to Master's programmes with a lower level degree if they have work experience relevant to the degree applied for.

Students with a three year Diploma from a recognised institution may apply for the Postgraduate Foundation Programme, a year long course which will gain them access to a Master's programme.

Research degree (MPhil/PhD: 3 years):

The usual entrance requirement for a research degree is a Master's degree with upper class second honours from a UK or accredited overseas university.   However many departments also accept student with the equivalent of an upper second-class Bachelor's degree from a UK university.
