Queen Mary welcomes applications from students taking A Level examinations and the International Baccalaureate (IB) for dirrct entry into its undergraduate programmes. Specific entry requirements vary depending on the course being applied for. Details of the grades or points required can be found in our undergraduate prospectus and on departmental web pages.

Holders of Bachillerato have normally completed 12 years of education and will usually need to do a one year Foundation programme before progressing to an undergraduate degree. Queen Mary offers a choice of two such foundation programmes – Business, Arts, Law & Social Sciences  and Science & Engineering.

Applications for undergraduate degrees in the UK are made through the UCAS system, information on the procedure can be found in Undergraduate Study .

Undergraduate transfer students

Mexican students who have completed one year at University level and are in good academic standing are eligible to apply for first year entry at Queen Mary. Students who have completed at least 2 years of a Mexican degree and are in good academic standing may be considered for transfer into the second year of a Queen Mary undergraduate degree. No students are permitted to transfer into the third (i.e. final) year of the degree. Medicine, Dentistry and Business Management do not accept transfer students. Law only accept transfer students from the London External Programme LLB.

Applications for Medicine and Dentistry

Applicants must have taken either A levels or the International Baccalaureate Program. Places available to international students are extremely limited - we are currently only permitted to accept 4 students for dentistry and 20 for medicine. Transfer students are not accepted.

Entry requirements for Postgraduate courses

Queen Mary regularly welcomes Mexican students to our postgraduate courses each year - the majority on one-year taught Masters courses with a smaller number undertaking research programmes towards a Phd.

The one-year duration of UK Masters courses allied to their international reputation for quality makes them a cost-effective choice for Mexican students.

Holders of a Mexican Licenciado awarded after 4 or more years of study if holding a very good Promedio (8 out of 10 or higher) will be considered for entry to Queen Mary postgraduate Masters degrees.

Queen Mary also offers a pre-Masters course preparing students for Masters degree study (link)

Holders of a Mexican Maestria (Masters) degree will be considered for entry to Research degrees (MPhil and Phd).

Applications for postgraduate courses are made directly to the institution. Information on applying to study for a postgraduate degree at Queen Mary can be found in Postgraduate study .
