Welcome
Queen Mary has a long history of welcoming students from around the world. Over the years, many thousands of international students have graduated from the college and gone on to pursue successful careers. Today, we are home to students from more than 100 different countries. This diversity contributes to a lively and welcoming community which should make you feel comfortable and at home.
One of the largest colleges of the University of London and one of the few with fully integrated teaching, research and residential facilities, our setting gives you the benefits both of a large campus environment and of the countless academic and social opportunities of London.
There are currently 64 students from Kazakhstan at Queen Mary studying a variety of courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels including: Science & Engineering, Economics, Business & Management, Law, and Environmental Science.

Entry requirements
Recognition of Kazakhstani Qualifications for Undergraduate Entry
Academic:
We are pleased to consider students who have completed a foundation course or at least 1 year of an approved Bakalavr/Diplom Specialista with a minimum 3 (out of 4), 3,33 (out of 4,33) or good. Although our offer will vary from board to board.
- Students holding a good Attestat/Svidetel stvo o Srednem Obrazovanii (Certificate of Secondary Education) will be admitted to a Foundation Programme

English Requirements

Students with A-levels or IB will not require IELTS or TOEFL.

Recognition of Kazakhstani Qualifications for Graduate Entry
Master's degrees (all one year)
Academic:
- The exact requirements will depend on the programme you are applying for but QM generally considers applicants holding a good Bakalavr/Diplom Specialista/Magister from a recognised Kazakhstani university for Master’s entry.
- For the LLM programme students need to have a four year Bakalavr/five year Diplom Specialista with a minimum 4.0 (out of 5)
- Case specific decisions are made for students holding other postschool qualifications.
- Please note that all applications are considered on an individual basis and students may be admitted to Master's programmes with a lower level degree if they have work experience relevant to the degree applied for.

Research degree (MPhil/PhD: 3 years)
Academic:
- The usual entrance requirement for a research degree is a Magister (Master’s degree) from a recognised Kazakhstani university. Some departments also accept student with a First or Upper Second Class Bachelor’s degree.
