Welcome

We are well aware that taking the decision to study in another country is often difficult and the prospect of leaving home to live in another country sometimes daunting. We'll help, support and advise you to make the process easier.
Entry requirements
Recognition of Chilean qualifications for undergraduate entry
The Standard school leaving certificate 'Licencia de Educación Media' is considered comparable to GCSE (grades A*-C) and does not therefore meet our direct entry requirements. Students must first do an accredited Foundation or Access Course. Queen Mary offers one year foundation programmes for entry into Humanities and Social Sciences or Science and Engineering undergraduate programmes.

- IELTS 5.0 / TOEFL 510 (IBT 64)

You may be considered for entry to undergraduate programmes if you have completed a period of study at university
Recognition of Chilean qualifications for graduate entry
Holders of the Licenciado/Professional title completed over 4 years or more will be considered for postgraduate diploma courses or Masters degree courses as appropriate. A minimum score of 5.0 (on a 7 scale) will normally be required, some subjects will require higher scores, Law for example require 6.0. Most Masters programmes will require undergraduate degrees to be in a related field of study. Queen Mary also offers a pre-Masters programme for students with lower grades or who require further English language study.
Research degree (Mphil/PhD: 3 years):
Applicants for PhD study should preferably hold a Masters degree (Magister) with high marks.
