Welcome
Queen Mary has a long history of welcoming students from around the world. Over the years, many thousands of international students have graduated from the college and gone on to pursue successful careers. Today, we are home to students from more than 100 different countries. This diversity contributes to a lively and welcoming community which should make you feel comfortable and at home.
One of the largest colleges of the University of London and one of the few with fully integrated teaching, research and residential facilities, our setting gives you the benefits both of a large campus environment and of the countless academic and social opportunities of London.
There are currently 22 students from Albania at Queen Mary studying a variety of course at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels including: Law, Business & Management, Economics & Finance, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Politics, and Biological & Chemical Sciences.

Entry requirements
Recognition of Albanian qualifications for Undergraduate Foundation Courses (1 year)
The following Albanian qualifications will be considered for entry onto a Queen Mary Foundation Course:
Academic:
- Dëftesë Pjekurie (Maturity Certificate) from a general secondary school with an overall average grade of at least 8/10. For some undergraduate programmes you may be expected to have studied specific subjects.
English:
- IELTS 5.0/TOEFL 510 or CBT 180

Recognition of Albanian qualifications for Undergraduate Entry
Academic:
- Queen Mary or other UK Foundation course (grade B)
- 3 A levels (grades A-C)
- International Baccalaureate (IB)

English:

- Students with A’ levels or IB will not require IELTS or TOEFL
- Students who achieve slightly below these requirements may be admitted onto a presessional English course at Queen Mary.

Recognition of Albanian qualifications for Graduate Entry
Master's degrees (all one year)
The following Albanian qualifications will be considered for entry onto a Queen Mary Master’s degree:
Academic:
- Bachelor’s degree (Honours)
- Diplomë e Studimeve te Thelluara ((Diploma of Advanced Studies)
- Exact requirements will depend on the course you are applying for but you will be expected to have a final grade of at least 8/10.
- Some departments may also accept high grades in a 4-year Diplomë/Titull.
Please note that all applications are considered on an individual basis and students may be admitted to Master's programmes with a lower level degree if they have work experience relevant to the degree applied for.

Research degree (MPhil/PhD: 3 years)
Academic:
- The usual entrance requirement for a research degree is a Master's degree from a UK university or recognised university in Albania.
- Some departments may also accept high grades in the Diplomë e Studimeve te Thelluara ((Diploma of Advanced Studies)
