What to wear
Graduation ceremonies are formal occasions and we request graduands and their guests dress appropriately.
Gentlemen should wear a suit or a shirt and tie. Ladies are advised to wear buttoned clothing to ensure you can attach your hood securely. All graduands are also asked to wear smart shoes as these are noticeable when walking across the stage.
Please be aware that if you do not wish to shake hands with the Principal when walking on stage you should carry your programme in your hands and he will act appropriately.
Parking & Travel
Please note that there is no parking available at Mile End. You are strongly advised to travel by public transport and the closest underground station is Mile End (served by the Central, District or Hammersmith & City lines) or Stepney Green (served by the District or Hammersmith & City Lines). Please use the TFL website to plan your journey to Mile End in advance using the online journey planner tool.
A very limited number of disabled parking spaces are available for Blue Badge holders only. If you or a relative are a Blue Badge Holder, you should request a space when you book your graduation tickets by completing the 'Special Requirements' box. A member of the team will then contact you for further information.
Special requirements
If you or any of your guests have any special requirements which the Events Office should be aware of, you must inform us of them when booking your tickets. There is a section in the online booking form where you can let us know of such requirements and we will do our best to accommodate them.
