What to wear
Graduation ceremonies are formal occasions and we request graduands and their guests dress appropriately. Academic dress is compulsory to attend the ceremonies.
Gentlemen should wear a suit or a shirt and tie and ladies are requested to dress smartly. Jeans and trainers are not acceptable forms of dress for a graduation ceremony.
Please be aware that if you do not wish to shake hands with the Principal on religious grounds when walking on stage, you should carry your graduation ceremony programme in your hand as you cross the stage and he will act appropriately.
Parking & Travel
Please note that there is no parking available at Mile End. You are strongly advised to travel by public transport and the closest underground station is Mile End (served by the Central, District or Hammersmith & City lines) or Stepney Green (served by the District or Hammersmith & City Lines). Please use the TFL website to plan your journey to Mile End in advance using the online journey planner tool.
A very limited number of disabled parking spaces are available for Blue Badge holders only. If you or a relative are a Blue Badge Holder, you should request a space when you book your graduation tickets by completing the 'Special Requirements' box. A member of the team will then contact you for further information one week before the event.
If you or any of your guests have any special requirements which the Events Office should be aware of, you must inform us of them when booking your tickets. There is a section in the online booking system where you can let us know of such requirements and we will do our best to accommodate them.
