EVOluTION Newsletter I

Welcome to the first EVOluTION Newsletter. EVOluTION (European Vascular Intervention and Therapeutic Innovative Network) is an EU funded Innovative training network (ITN) designed to deliver high level scientific and complementary training to 11 PhD students.
What we are
The EVOluTION network, led by QMUL, includes a collaboration with 5 main partners (Maastricht University, University College Dublin, Karolinksa Institutet, MRCT, and Ludwig Maximillians University) and 8 associated partners from across Europe. Our research evolves around the innovative concept of boosting natural protective mechanisms operating in our body, focusing on the vasculature. Combined with an extensive training schedule on preclinical and clinical science, intellectual property and commercial aspects, EVOluTION will create scientists that are highly skilled in research, business and entrepreneurship.

Update
We would like to update you on the program and the progress we have made in the last 9 months.

The first event “The Kick off Meeting” was hosted by QMUL in April, 2016 and the Supervisors spent one day discussing the scientific, financial and management aspects of this ITN.

Recruitment for the PhD students began in May 2017, and after receiving over 500 applications 11 excellent candidates were chosen and have now joined the program. Please take a look at the website to view the ESR profiles. The website also contains useful information about EVOluTION and will be regularly updated with event schedules and outreach activities.

We have just set up a facebook page – please join and contribute!
