Early Clearing at Queen Mary University of London runs from 5 July - 10 August.
If you have already received your entry qualification results, or will receive your results during this period, and you would like to join Queen Mary, please contact our Admissions team on 0800 376 1800 (UK) or +44 (0)20 7882 5511 (overseas). Our Admissions Office is open Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.
We encourage you to get in contact as soon as possible after receiving your results. We will no longer consider applicants for Early Clearing from midday on 10 August. After this point, you will need to call our main Clearing Hotline, which opens on 17 August.
Prepare for Early Clearing by following our step-by-step guide:
Finding the right course
You’ll be spending at least three years studying for your degree, so it’s important to find a course that’s right for you. See what courses we offer by taking a look at our Course Finder. Here you will find specific information about course content, structure and modules available.
If you haven’t previously considered Queen Mary, it’s worth doing some research on what we offer. We’re lucky to have a beautiful campus in London, and you can see it for yourself by attending an open day or campus tour.
Contacting the University
Once you’ve identified the course that you’re interested in, and you’re confident that Queen Mary is the place for you, you’ll need to contact our Admissions team directly on 0800 376 1800 (UK) or +44 (0)20 7882 5511 (overseas) between 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
When speaking with a member of our Admissions team, you’ll need to have the following information to hand:
- Your name, UCAS number and Clearing number (if applicable)
- The name of the course you wish to be considered for
- Details of your qualifications, including the qualification type and the subjects and grades achieved. This should include academic qualifications and any English Language qualifications you may have
- Your UCAS history – have you applied to Queen Mary before? Have you received offers from other Universities that you are currently still holding?
- Your fee status, i.e. whether you are a home, EU or overseas student
- Contact details, including a current telephone number and email address
What happens next?
Subject to places being available, our Admissions team will confirm whether or not you are qualified for the course you wish to join, and there will be one of three outcomes:
- We can offer you a place on your chosen course straight away.
If we’re able to offer you a place straight away, we’ll confirm the offer verbally over the phone and then send you an email with detailed instructions advising you on what to do next. We will send this email to the contact address originally provided.
- We may need to pass your details on to a specialist Admissions Manager to make a final decision.
In some cases, a specialist Admissions Manager may need to assess your case. If this happens, we’ll aim to contact you via email within 24 hours with a final decision.
If we’re able to offer you a place, we’ll confirm this in writing by sending an email to the contact address originally provided. This email will also contain detailed instructions advising you on what to do next.
If we’re unable to offer you a place, we will also send you an email explaining the academic reasons for this decision.
- We may not be able to offer you a place on the course.
In some cases, we may not be able to offer you a place on your chosen course. The course may not have vacancies or your qualifications may fall below the minimum entry requirements.
We will tell you there and then over the phone so you’ll be free to consider other courses at QMUL or approach other Universities who may still have places on a similar course.
Confirming your place
If you’re successful in receiving a verbal offer from Queen Mary University of London, and have received an email communication to confirm this, you’ll need to add your chosen course as a Clearing Choice on UCAS Track. You may have a deadline to do this by, so it’s important to check your email carefully to avoid any disappointment.
You should go to the ‘Your choices’ section of Track and click 'Add Clearing choice’, then enter the details of the course. Our Institutional code is Q50.
Once you have done this, we will be able to confirm your place, subject to final Admissions checks and verification of the information provided at the point of verbal offer.
Your original UCAS application will be passed on to us within 24 hours, at which point we will be able to confirm your place and make an unconditional offer of study. Your offer will show as accepted on Track within a further 24 – 48 hours (excluding weekends) and you will receive a confirmation email confirming your secured place at Queen Mary University of London.
You should only add a course to Track if you are willing to accept the offer.
