CiTI combines the scientific excellence within the School of Medicine and Dentistry with other co-aligned QMUL structures such as the Institute of Bioengineering (IoB) and Life Sciences Initiative (LSI).

CiTI is a hub where major clinical expertise assembled within Barts Health Emergency Care and Acute Medicine (ECAM) Clinical Academic Group (CAG, Research Director Pitzalis) and the NIHR Cardio-Vascular Biomedical Research Unit (BRU, Director Caulfield) synergises with basic and applied science within the College, attracting commercial and third stream funding.
