During this academic year a group of QMUL Global Health Students (MSc) joined Youth Stop AIDS, undertaking health prevention initiatives at the University's Mile End and Whitechapel campuses. In recognition for such actions, these students were invited by the Global Fund (GF) to attend a meeting and a workshop at their Geneva headquarters in Switzerland in April 2017.
The GF dedicates part of its resources to aid Global Health actions related to the control of infectious diseases such as HIV, Malaria and Tuberculosis. During this meeting two senior members from the GF demonstrated an overview on how the Global Fund works, their areas of intervention, and how revenues are polled and reallocated to recipient countries.
We congratulate Youth Stop Aids QMUL for their engagement which has contributed to societal change and critical thinking!
The students that attended the workshop were:
Halimat Halimat Olaoye
Krishen Samuel - VP Youth Stop Aids QMUL
Ngo Bibba Lundi-Anne - President Youth Stop Aids QMUL
