UK Government’s Matched Funding Scheme
By encouraging donor support, the UK Government is hoping that its Matched Funding Scheme for Higher Education in England will promote a culture of philanthropic support from alumni and friends that will outlast the duration of the scheme.
Queen Mary, University of London will receive an additional 50 per cent on top of the total value of the original gift made between 1 August 2008 and 31 July 2011(2:1 private:public).
This includes gifts from UK and overseas donors.
Tax efficient giving can enhance the value of your gift to the Queen Mary, University of London Foundation if you are a UK tax payer.

Matched Funding scheme reaches the half-way mark
With 18 months remaining, there is still plenty of time to ensure that your gift, which could make a real difference for a student at Queen Mary, is further enhanced by support from the Government.
Queen Mary, University of London needs to raise £2.7 million in order to benefit fully from the scheme. So far we have raised over 50 per cent of the total which is already being used to support new areas of research in the William Harvey Research Institute, as well as providing new bursaries and opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students across the College.
In order to sustain this momentum and ensure we reach our target we need your support.
For example, making a gift between now and 31 July 2011:
