Mr Adrian Leece

Geography, 1983

Employment details
High School Headmaster
John F Kennedy, The American School

Impact of degree on career choice and current opportunities
Studying geography gave me the initial opening as a geography teacher. University taught me to think, not just to recall. This is the basic principal of all educational practice today.

As a headmaster in Mexico, I face the challenge and responsibility of maintaining high standards in a safe and respectful environment for a multicultural faculty and student body.

Advice to current students
If you can handle a huge diversity of long-term and short-term planning and crisis, encourage people, enthuse youth, don’t mind being criticised for things you apparently should have known about and can handle abusive parents and don’t mind being unpopular with lots of people.....teaching is for you!!
