My role includes project management which in turn includes risk, assumptions, issues and action management and scheduling. I also manage a workstream of staff.
Impact of degree on career choice and current opportunities
A university degree provides a very good basis for understanding your work principles. You may not use all the equations everyday but you would be lost without that understanding.
Although my job is not purely technical now, the knowledge I gained at Queen Mary helps me to understand projects and related management issues. In previous roles I have used my understanding of aircraft to enable me to write safety reports to allow aircraft to operate from Navel vessels.
