Queen Mary Alumni

BATLAA Giving

Former students who qualified from Barts and The London medical and dental colleges have established a tradition of giving to support student opportunities, scholarship and research. Gifts given by Barts and The London alumni to the Queen Mary University of London Foundation are assigned to help current and future medical and dental students at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Many Barts and The London alumni have chosen to support the work of the Queen Mary University of London Foundation by making gifts to the Annual Fund. We are immensely grateful to each and every one of them for their valuable support.

By making a gift you can show your commitment to creating a positive impact on the lives of the students and staff who study, research and work at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry.

You can make an online gift by clicking on the buttons below or you can call +44 (0)20 7882 6429 to make your donation over the phone.

The London Hospital Dental Club Benevolent Fund and the Barts and The London Hospital Medical Club Benevolent Fund

The London Hospital Dental Club Benevolent Fund and the Barts and The London Hospital Medical Club Benevolent Fund, both now under the trusteeship of the BATLAA Trustees, are able to offer some assistance to current dental and medical students in financial hardship. Your annual donation to these funds will help BATLAA to continue its support to students, enabling them to make the most of their time here and to obtain a qualification which they have worked so hard to achieve.

Every year a new student is selected to receive a London Hospital Dental Club bursary of £1,000 in each year of the first three years of their degree. In addition, the Benevolent Fund supports some of the expenses incurred by Year 4 students when they undertake their electives.

Both the London Hospital Dental Club Benevolent Fund and the Barts and The London Hospital Medical Club Benevolent Fund are registered charities. You can find out more by visiting the Charity Commission's website at www.gov.uk/government/organisations/charity-commission [new window].

Malcolm Jenkins and John Richards Travelling Scholarship Fund

Alumni of The London Hospital Dental Club have, over several years, supported the aim of the Malcolm Jenkins and John Richards Travelling Scholarship. This small endowment fund is able to support one or two Year 4 students to undertake a project at a dental school overseas. Each recipient is invited to present their findings at the London Hospital Dental Club's Annual Clinical Meeting and a report on their visit is published in the LHDC Newsletter.
