London by Cycle events coming to Queen Mary!
17 January 2014
Funded by Transport for London, the London Cycling Campaign is running a series of events promoting cycling at universities and colleges across London.
- Never ridden a bike before but want to try?
- Got a new bike and looking for advice?
- Ride a bit but wish you were more confident?
- Die-hard cyclist, but want to improve facilities at your Uni?
|Location||First Event||Second Event||Times|
|Library Square, Mile End||5th February 2014||26th February 2014||11am-3pm|
|Floyer House, Whitechapel||6th February 2014||28th February 2014||11am-3pm|
The first event is a smaller taster event, with a mechanic on hand for some quick repairs and a qualified cycle instructor for any questions you might have. We will then be back on for a second event with much more – two mechanics to make your old bike feel like new, and two cycle instructors who can dispense helpful advice and even take you for a quick ride to show you the ropes. We will have a range of bikes to try – from a nippy folder to an elegant city bike.
Best of all, we have FREE coffee to keep you warm whilst you plan your next ride!
We are also running a Bicycle User Group, so if you want to get involved in making cycling better around your college or university email firstname.lastname@example.org for details. If you want to learn to fix your own bike, try our lunchtime Bike Maintenance Talk – email email@example.com for more info.
We are also running some competitions – with the chance to win some exciting prizes! Have a go at the bike parts quiz on our stall, or tweet or email us a photo with the caption ‘why I want to ride a bike’, for your chance to win!
